Most Christians believe we remain conscious after death. As Jesus said, the hour is coming in which all who are in the graves will hear His voice and come forth” ( John 5:28-29 John 5:28-29 28 Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that Peaceful Scriptures are in the graves shall hear his voice, 29 And shall come forth; they that have done good, to the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, to the resurrection of damnation.
As more Christians take the time to examine this doctrine, they realize it has solid support in Scripture and the belief is growing stronger today. We become conscious again when we wake up. The Bible consistently describes the resurrection as waking up from sleep.
16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
Since the Bible is written by Yahweh through His chosen "secretaries," then His Word must be read, studied, taught, and followed by all, as it contains timeless truths, principles, and precepts for righteous living according to God's will (Psalm 119; Psalm 1; 2 Timothy 3:16-17).
The Bible says the spirits of the righteous are already with the Lord. This precious evening time is perfect for a last-minute reflection on God's grace. My passion is to help others apply God's truth to every aspect of life for his glory and our enjoyment of him.
