Kids are naturally active, social, and adventurous in the outdoors. New outdoor playground equipment offers novel ideas to play. Besides, kids’ interaction with nature helps to alleviate stress and improve their moods. Play helps them to have peaceful sleep and brighter minds to tackle their homework.

Even with all the numerous benefits that outdoor play offers, it is difficult to motivate kids to play outside. Here we have four simple ideas for you to have active fun with your kid outside.

1. Bring a friend
Your child will be willing to play outdoors when accompanied by a friend. They experience more fun when he or she will be with other kids. You could help them by bringing their friends from school or neighbor. Siblings also make good friends and some kids get along really well with their family members. You can also team up with them and play outdoors while supervising them. Engage another parent in this scheme and you will make play more exciting for them.

2. Gear up
While sports gear is important to keep your kid safe while playing outside, it also tempts them to play. Modern gear entices kids to leave their digital gadgets and play in the park. Kids can also put on gear for cycling outdoors or anything that involves water. Play gear allows the kid to be confident, adventurous, and resilient while playing. Modern outdoor playground equipment is also playing its part to make play more interesting for the kids. They can climb, jump, and play several games while avoiding injuries.

3. Challenge them
Playing outdoor sets new limits every day for the kids. It challenges your child for competition. It could be a bike race, a game of badminton, or outdoor playground equipment with obstacles. Competition makes kids winners and pushes them to reach higher limits and explore their potential.

4. Teach old tricks
You must have played many games during your childhood. There is no doubt that our kids today have more ways to entertain themselves, they still don’t know many of our childhood games them we loved to play. Teaching your kids your favorite childhood games can inspire them to play outside. The games that I remember are flashlight tag, skating on a local pond, or exploring the woods on foot. Share your childhood passion with your kids to revive some interesting games.
