The kind of notes taking that a student should do is where they listen first then jot down the vital points. Paragraphs after paragraphs will not help you to write the best essay after, given that you will have more work to try and put your notes together to understand the content.
Listen carefully and understand the title of the lesson. That will give you a framework of the things you are to learn through the lecture. Understand the concepts that you will use later with the members of your study group, or when you take to your sessions of studying. You will not have to scratch your head trying to remember where a concept was leading to. You will simply expound what you have, and the reference to the textbooks will be simple.
This is one method of learning that peer tutors use, leaving you to wonder how they seem to grasp everything that they learn. You don’t have to be all ears in a lecture, be attentive to the right content coming from the professor. You will hence end up with a good guide to use later in your studies. Take notes that will remind you most of the things you need for your tests.
